Comcast Corporation, a mass media company which is the largest broadcasting and cable company that earns higest revenue is about to launch a digital video service calles "Watchable". Perhaps, they launch this platform to rival Youtube and facebook.
They already started partnering with major digital publishers and brands. Comcast-backed, Buzzfeed, lifestyle, Awesomeness TV which is a comedy sites, Refinery29, The onion. Some news sites like Mic,vice are also agreed to partnering with Comcast.

The full list of partnering media companies is still being determined, sources say, but participants are committing to Comcast for up to a few years. As part of the partnership, the publishers have agreed to upload all unlicensed, original video content to Watchable for users to stream on demand. The content from the publishers will be bundled and curated for Comcast's millions of Xfinity X1 box owners, and eventually Watchable will also be available on iOS and Android devices.
As a cable operator company Comcast already has a few billion of
subscribers.With their smart-TV solution calles Xfinity they are planning
to broaden their subscibers more than ten millions by 2017. Hence, their
digital video platform is a huge step to gain the success. With "Watchable"
they are hoping to become the next digital-video advertising leader.
According to Insider:
Publishers seem interested in Comcast's platform for two reasons.
1. It's a new marketing opportunity, allowing online-only brands to get in front of TV watchers.
2. It's a potential big new revenue stream.
This new video platform could help the digital publishers spread out their name not
only as a online brand but a household name just like cable telivision doing
their job. Therefore, they will be able to attain voluminous income like cable
media long enjoyed.
Henceforth, facebook, youtube is conquering the present digital media world. Do Comcast's
